Brisbane Racing Club officials will meet with trainers to discuss better ways to manage the Eagle Farm A grass after problems with the surface at barrier trials.
The first four trials on Tuesday morning were run on the A grass before jockeys complained about some horses slipping.
The remaining trials were then switched to the dirt training tracks.
Eagle Farm's main track has been closed since May last year after problems with the ongoing redevelopment.
BRC racing manager Matt Rudolph said the A grass had taken heavy traffic during the winter.
"There have some heavy dews on top of the heavy rain last week and the tracks haven't had a chance to dry out," Rudolph said.
"We will meet with trainers on Thursday and come up with a way to manage trials and track work during the winter period."
The secretary of the Queensland branch of the Australian Trainers Association, Cameron Partington said the situation had been unacceptable and the trainers would be attending Thursday's meting to get their point across.
"We have negotiated with Racing Queensland to have all fees waived or refunded for trialling or scratching," he said.
