FALCON ISLAND past the post

According to official published data, this win broke several long standing records.

Of the
493 races run over 1600m on the Wyong track since the 1999/2000 season:

FALCON ISLAND set a new Benchmark 67 CLASS RECORD.

The Previous Class Record was set seven years earlier, on 13/10/11 by
SAN ZAIM who carried 52.0kgs and ran 1:38.96 a time which was 2.72 secs slower than FALCON ISLAND recorded.

FALCON ISLAND’s time equates to approximately 18 lengths faster than the previous Class Record.

In fact, the time
FALCON ISLAND recorded of 1:36.24 is the 4th Fastest Time amongst all 42different class grades over 1600m.

a) The track record is
1:35.81 just 0.43secs (3 lengths) faster.

b) A Class Record for Non Metropolitan Winners was set on 16/1/2013 when mid-week city meetings were being transferred to provincial tracks because Randwick was undergoing renovations. At that transferred meeting at Wyong, the NMW Class Record was set by
GINSENGrunning 1:36.08. (0.16 secs faster = 1 length)

c) A Benchmark 65 race set a time of
1:36.17 (0.07 secs = 1/2 length faster) in 5/4/2012 by CLICKETY SNIP.

d) Another record set by
FALCON ISLAND was his winning margin of 8.24 lengths. This was the biggest margin recorded by any runner on a Good, Dead or Slow surface at the track over 1600m.

The previous Biggest Margin on a Good Track was set 17 years earlier, back on 28/10/2001 when a horse named STARK TOUCH won by 7.0 lengths (carrying 54.0kgs in Class 1 grade, on a Good 3 surface, recording a time of 1:38.23 = 1.99 seconds slower time = 14 lengths).

So in setting this new mark,
FALCON ISLAND:

(1)    Recorded a 1.25 lengths bigger margin than
Stark Touch had set,
(2)    Carried 5.0 kgs more than the
Stark Touch carried,
(3)    Ran a 14 lengths faster time than
Stark Touch ran when winning by 7.0 lengths
(4)    Competed in a stronger grade race,
FALCON ISLAND winning a Benchmark 67 and Stark Touch winning a Class 1.

The following short 9 second video clip was recorded at the races and sent to us by co-owner Tony Attieh from TP Racing.

His text said:
“Listen to the happy owners and my daughter’s screams as FALCON approaches the finish line.”

This is so good, highlighting owners enjoyment, that we wanted to share it with you.

Listen to our owners enjoyment watching their horse win !

On Sunday morning
Adam Watt caught up with FALCON ISLAND at Tulloch Lodge along with fellow co-owners the Williamson’s. FALCON ISLAND was healthy and well but he knew he had put in a massive effort appearing a little tired. However he loved the attention he received as a winner and on a cold Winter morning, he was enjoying standing in the sunlight.

The Williamson family with their horse FALCON ISLAND on Sunday having been at Wyong to cheer him home the day before

FALCON ISLAND recorded Dynamic Syndications 53rd Race Win for this 2017/18 Racing Season. It was also our 541st Race Win scored by 189 Individual Winners from 202 Individual Runners (93.6%).

Adam Watt - Dynamic Syndications Sales and Marketing Director wrote on his facebook on Saturday a comment I would like to share with our readers:

“Today was a reality check I needed. Seeing how happy these people were to win with their horse at Wyong. No it wasn’t the Melbourne Cup or a Gr1 but each and every person had a story as to why they were involved and some of those stories would bring a tear to your eye if you knew how much it meant to them to see their racehorse win. I bloody love what I do.”

Well said Adam !
