Tiffany's Lass has given her trainer Danny Laws the thrill of his career with a frontrunning win in a staying race at Moonee Valley.
"To win a race at the Valley on a Saturday, it's what you dream of," Laws said after Stephanie Thornton guided Tiffany's Lass to victory in Saturday's Woodside Park Stud Handicap (2500m).
Kilmore-based Laws runs a stockfeed business and also has a couple of horses in work, with Tiffany's Lass registering her second city win on Saturday after scoring in a midweek race at Sandown last month.
The five-year-old mare had finished second in 2500m races at Flemington and Moonee Valley her past two starts but was able to go one better on Saturday, leading throughout to get home by 1-1/4 lengths over Fontein Lad.
Zilbiyr was the same margin away third.
"She's a lovely mare and it was a great ride," Laws said.
"She's been up for a while but she's in the paddock every day with her sister and we don't do much with her between races.
"She's so happy and it's why she continues to run well."
