ATC donates surplus to country clubs

Sunday 26 August 2018, 5:20pm

NSW country clubs continue to be the beneficiaries of the Australian Turf Club's surplus equipment and racing infrastructure.

As part of the ATC's charity and community engagement program, the club has donated four horse walkers with two sent to Mudgee and one each to Dubbo and Goulburn.

The ATC has also recently donated 1000 metres of running rail to the Gunnedah club.

The ATC maintains a register of surplus equipment and invites country race clubs to apply for in-kind donations every six months.

ATC acting chief executive James Heddo said it was important the club led hte way in helping country race clubs.

"As the principal club in NSW we are very pleased to be able to help out other clubs with critical infrastructure that still has a good working life for the NSW racing industry,'' Heddo said.
