Five youngsters have been entered for Sydney's first barrier trial for the new season's two-year-olds at Randwick.

The 740m-heat on Tuesday will feature two horses from the Gai Waterhouse and Adrian Bott stable, Golden Avenger and Royal Marine.

John Sargent has entered Aspect Ratio and War Of Courage while the other scheduled runner is the Mark Newnham-trained Exceed The Stars.

There will be heats for juveniles at upcoming trial sessions with the official two-year-old trials on the Kensington track at Randwick on Sunday, September 17.

The first races for two-year-olds in Sydney are the Breeders' Plate for colts and geldings and the Gimcrack Stakes for fillies on September 29 at Randwick, both over 1000m at Group Three level.
