Lucky For All secures Ballarat Cup start

Thursday 22 November 2018, 4:34pm

Two scratchings have paved the way for Ballarat Cup favourite Lucky For All to secure a start in the $350,000 race.

The Darren Weir-trained Lucky For All was second emergency when the final field was declared on Wednesday but the Chris Waller-trained Savacool and John McArdle-trained Smart As You Think have since been taken out, meaning the gelding gains a start.

Lucky For All, to be ridden by Jye McNeil, was the $3.90 favourite on Thursday for Saturday's 2200m race.

Victoria's premier trainer Weir has seven acceptors in the Ballarat Cup on his home track.

Weir's only Ballarat Cup win to date was in 2004 with Just The Part.
