A poor whip infringements record has cost Ben Allen a hefty suspension after his winning ride aboard Mr Quickie at Pakenham.
Allen was handed a 12-meeting suspension after pleading guilty to using the whip on 12 occasions before the 100m mark, seven more than permitted, in Mr Quickie's nose win in the Grand Vue Springlands Handicap.
Racing Victoria stewards also took into account the totality of his whip use, 21 times over the 2000m course, and his poor record in handing down the penalty.
In-form jockey Clayton Douglas was banned for 11 meetings after pleading guilty to a careless riding charge aboard Champagne Cocktail in the Fulmen Park Handicap.
Both jockeys start their bans immediately.
