Ex-pat Australian jockey Zac Purton has racked up his 900th winner in Hong Kong after a five-win haul at Sha Tin.
The winner of his second Hong Kong premiership last season, Purton reached the milestone in Sunday's final race.
Douglas Whyte, who is still riding, holds the record of 1809 with Purton closing in on second-placed Tony Cruz who retired with 946.
"I came to Hong Kong hoping to ride one winner and here we are over a decade later with 900. It's very satisfying," Purton said.
"I've got him (Cruz) in my sights now."
"I came here thinking I had a pretty average book of rides. I thought if I had one I'd be happy, and here I am with five on the day. Sometimes you can't pick it."
Purton leads Karis Teetan by 12 in this season's premiership battle and won two of the four Group One races at the International meeting a week ago, taking the Vase on Exultant and the Mile on Beauty Generation.
