Trainer Tony Gollan set a state record for winners in the best possible way when Solar Star won the Listed Gai Waterhouse Classic at Ipswich.
Gollan already had gained the record for most metropolitan victories when he became the first to train 100 Brisbane winners last month.
He went into Saturday's race on 151-1/2 statewide winners and needed one more to beat the previous record of 152.
Solar Star ($11) gave Gollan his eighth Listed win of the season when she held on to beat Jami Lady ($4.40) in a driving finish.
The Godolphin mare Multaja ($5) flashed home from well back to finish third.
Gollan said Solar Star would now head to the Magic Millions National broodmare sales which have been delayed until July 27.
"John Baxter bought her at last year's sales and gave her to me to trainer for a year," Gollan said.
"She has now won three from three at Ipswich and is a black-type winner."
"It means she really is a nice broodmare prospect and now she is going back to the sales.
"The win puts the icing on what has been a great season for everyone at the stable."
The win also completed a profitable winter for jockey Robbie Fradd which included a Group One win on Tyzone in the Stradbroke Handicap.
"She is a lovely tough mare and hopefully she will go to a really top sire," Fradd said.
