Jockey Andrew Adkins is expected to remain in a Sydney hospital for at least the remainder of the week after surgery on injuries sustained in a race fall at Rosehill.
Adkins was injured when Hot 'N' Hazy fell in the opening race on Saturday.
The jockey underwent surgery on Sunday where he had a rod put in his fractured tibia and a plate attached to his fractured clavicle.
Adkins still has a test tube in place for his pneumothorax and some ongoing pain from seven rib fractures.
Racing NSW's Dr David Duckworth said Adkins was recovering well but would remain in the high dependency ward for a few more days before transferring to the orthopaedic ward.
