All Aged Stakes winner books Everest slot

Thursday 17 September 2020, 9:32am

Seven slots remain up for grabs in the $15 million The Everest after Tofane became the latest sprinter to secure her place in the field.

The Mike Moroney-trained mare has been announced as the representative for Yulong Investments, joining Nature Strip, Gytrash, Classique Legend and Rothfire as confirmed runners.

Tofane resumed with a third in the Bobbie Lewis Quality at Flemington on Saturday and will have one more start before tackling The Everest at Randwick on October 17.

With a number of slots still vacant, Saturday's Group Two The Shorts is shaping as a defining race with several Everest hopefuls set to clash in the Randwick sprint.

Bivouac will bid to cement his claims for Godolphin's spot while Eduardo, Splintex, Catalyst, Standout and possibly Dirty Work will all be vying to attract Everest interest.

Already assured of a start, Classique Legend begins his campaign in the race on a mission to atone for his luckless performance in the Everest 12 months ago.
