Sam Freedman described Endanger as a horse on the way up after his tough victory in the Listed Gothic Stakes at Caulfield.
Freedman said Endanger would now follow a traditional path for the winner of Saturday's race and target the Carbine Club Stakes at Flemington on October 31 and the Sandown Guineas a fortnight later.
The co-trainer was pleased to get a win at the Caulfield carnival for Godolphin, who have been great supporters of his family.
Freedman said that Endanger was still three or four months away from peaking.
"He's very lazy. It looked like he had a lot to offer but there was a lot of idling until well into the straight," Freedman said.
His jockey Jye McNeil echoed that sentiment as he said Endanger only did the minimum required.
He said it was important for the three-year-old to post another win for his confidence.
McNeil had Endanger ($3.60 fav) positioned midfield on the fence and then eased him to the outside on straightening and he ran down the leader Osamu ($4.60) by a half length.
So Let's Toast ($19) was another length away third.
