The partnership of Gai Waterhouse and Adrian Bott have combined with Winona Costin to take out the Listed City Tattersalls Club Cup at Randwick with Knights Order.
The So You Think import was second up after almost 700 days on the sidelines but led from barrier to box over the 2400m journey in wet conditions.
Stable representative Neil Paine was full of praise for Costin, who was having her second ride on the gelding following a sixth in the Port Macquarie Cup earlier this month.
"She's done exactly what Gai and Adrian wanted," Paine said.
"To lead and to keep the horse balanced, she's done it to the letter. This girl is riding very well.
"The trip away has done him the world of good. Since the Port Macquarie Cup run this horse has just gone ahead in leaps and bounds."
The win brought up a rare Saturday double for the in-form jockey, who saluted earlier on the James Ponsonby-trained Proven Class in the Highway Handicap.
"It is amazing to get a double in town on a Saturday," Costin said.
"I said after the last one that it was a while since I had a city winner, so to get a double is great and just to have people supporting me in town, even if it is at the light weights, I am going to relish it.
"My dad is quite sick so it was good to get a winner for him. It really picks him up."
