Classy mare Niedorp is on track for her forthcoming clash with Kisukano in the Nudgee Stakes after scoring a comfortable win in a Doomben barrier trial.
Despite being pressured midrace, the four-year-old edged clear in the straight, with Georgina Cartwright aboard, to defeat Oh Five Glory by a neck with Gotta Kiss a nose away third.
Niedorp clocked 1:00.16 for the 1000 metres, which was 0.78 seconds slower than Jami Lady recorded in Tuesday's opening heat.
Trainer Tony Gollan has kept Niedorp fresh since her win in the Spirit Of Boom Classic (1200m) at Doomben on November 28.
Tuesday's trial was Niedorp's final serious public hitout before she lines up in the Listed Nudgee Stakes (1200m) at Eagle Farm on January 2.
The Nudgee will also be the target for record-breaking filly Kisukano, an easy winner of a 925 metre barrier trial at Toowoomba on Tuesday
Ridden by Skye Bogenhuber, Kisukano won by two lengths, pleasing trainer Michael Nolan with her performance and barrier manners.
If Kisukano, the Eagle Farm 1200 metre track record holder, wins the Nudgee she will gain a wildcard exemption into the Magic Millions Fillies and Mares (1300m) at the Gold Coast on January 16.
Gotta Kiss will step up in trip to run in the Group Three Vo Rogue Plate (1400m) at Eagle Farm on the same day as the Nudgee.
The filly settled in second last place in her trial before working to the outside and took ground off Niedorp in the run to the line.
