Angela Davies has an eye on Magic Millions riches for Salina Dreaming but she wants the mare to produce another strong performance before she commits to it.
Salina Dreaming will be in action in the Ranvet Handicap (1100m) on the Randwick-Kensington track on Saturday.
Salina Dreaming stamped her credentials with a game first-up victory over 1100m at Randwick three weeks back and Davies is confident the lightly raced four-year-old is again well placed on Saturday.
"The mare has always shown ability but she's come back more mature and stronger, "Davies said.
"After she won at Newcastle last campaign, I was quite confident she'd be up to Sydney Saturday class and it was terrific to see her get the job done first-up."
While still a work in progress, Salina Dreaming has already built an impressive resume, recording four wins and three placings from seven race appearances.
"Hugh Bowman got off her after the Randwick win and said she still didn't know how to put them away and she's still learning," Davies said.
"Hopefully if she runs well enough tomorrow she'll then head to the $1 million Magic Millions Fillies and Mares race over 1300m in two weeks time."
The Kensington track is expected to be rated Heavy but Davies has little concern about the daughter of Dream Ahead handling the conditions.
"I'm not sure she'll absolutely love the wet but she'll get through it." Davies said.
Named after the Greek God of dreams and wishes, Salina Dreaming has won twice on soft going and placed at all three of previous runs on heavy tracks.
Regan Bayliss takes the reins and the mare looks well placed from an inside draw and back against her own sex.
"She can be where she wants to be from that alley," Davies said.
Meanwhile, stable star Through The Cracks is enjoying a short let-up following his barnstorming fourth in the Villiers Stakes three-weeks back.
"He went super in the Villiers, we just didn't need the track to be as hard as it was that day,"Davies said.
"It was a wonderful campaign. He's a tough little customer who keeps taking the next step and we can now put into place a few races heading into the autumn."
Davies' resolution for the New Year is simple.
"To keep winning races and try and get to Sydney more often would be lovely."
