Since Laure Me In became a Sydneysider under the watchful eye of Warwick Farm trainer David Pfieffer, his trademark has been his consistency.
And on Saturday at Randwick in the Listed January Cup (2000m), the six-year-old gets another chance to add further black type to his record.
Laure Me In was trained down south by Tony and Calvin McEvoy and he could boast a win at Flemington.
He joined Pfieffer's stables in late 2019 and has since had 13 starts for him for two wins and four placings which include a second behind Greysful Glamour in the Listed ATC Cup in November last year.
The Ad Valorem gelding is not overly comfortable on the heavy going so Pfieffer is hoping that the wet weather can subside, and the race can be run on a firmer surface.
"He's is great order, but we definitely want the track to dry out a bit on Saturday," Pfieffer said.
"It looks an even enough sort of field however and hopefully everyone gets their chance with even tempo and rhythm."
Pfieffer won't be on course on Saturday, as he is currently in rural isolation like most trainers who are heading to the Gold Coast.
It's been a different type of lead in to the lucrative Magic Millions carnival this year, with trainers and syndicators having to abide by the Covid protocols to allow them entry into Queensland.
"I'm in Coffs Harbour today, I'll be in Tweed Heads tomorrow and then onto the Gold Coast where I've got Yamazaki in on the 16th," Pfieffer said.
Laure Me In gets the services of Jay Ford, the jockey of Takeover Target fame, who surprisingly hasn't sat on the horse since his first trial for Pfieffer in November 2019.
The Randwick track is currently rated a Soft 6 with warmer temperatures predicted for Saturday.
