Craig Williams will miss Caulfield Guineas day after failing in his appeal against the severity of a careless riding ban.
Williams fronted the Racing Appeals and Disciplinary Board in Melbourne on Monday morning to challenge the severity of his 10-meeting suspension for careless riding aboard Anatina at Flemington last Saturday.
He needed to have three meetings shaved off the ban in order to ride at Saturday's Caulfield meeting where he was booked for Shamus Award in the Group One Caulfield Guineas and Speediness in the Group One Toorak Handicap.
Shamus Award was a close second to Divine Calling in the Group Two Bill Stutt Stakes last start while Speediness was a eye-catching fourth in the Group One Rupert Clarke Stakes at his most recent outing.
