French Group One winner Havana Gold will be prepared by Mikel Delzangles for his final race in the Emirates Stakes at Flemington.
Havana Gold has been trained throughout his career by Richard Hannon but Qatar Racing has decided to use the Melbourne and Caulfield Cups winning trainer Delzangles for the Australian trip.
Hannon saddled the son of Teofilo to win five races, including the Prix Jean Prat at Chantilly in June.
The horse will be retired to Tweeenhills Stud after the Emirates.
David Redvers, Qatar Racing's bloodstock and racing manager, said Havana Gold would travel to Australia with Dunaden, winner of the 2011 Melbourne Cup and last year's Caulfield Cup.
"Richard Hannon made a wonderful job of handling Havana Gold's career thus far, but he will join Dunaden to travel to Australia where he will be handled by Mikel Delzangles and his team," Redvers said.
"They are due to fly this coming weekend.
"We are hoping he will round off his career in style in Australia.
"We moved him to Mikel Delzangles because of the success he has had with horses in the southern hemisphere and Far East. He will travel with and be trained alongside Dunaden."
