Good things come in pairs...

Friday 13 December 2013, 3:57pm

Black Revolver (pictured above) son of Lonhro, will line up tomorrow in his third start in town on the14th of December at Kensington in the 3YO BM 74 Australian Turf Club Handicap (1400) at 1:10pm. He has drawn well in barrier 1 in a field of 9 with Blake Shinn jumping in the saddle. Blake exclaimed how much he “liked Black Revolver” after riding him in a trial and is very keen to get back on board.

Champion trainer Chris Waller said that “the horse has been working well, I think that the extra distance will suit and he looks well placed on Saturday”.

The gelding rallied well in his first Saturday city race at Rosehill Gardens in the Blackwoods Pacific Hoists Handicap (1300m) on the 30th of November showing plenty of heart to only be beaten by less than a length in the finishing stages of the race. Drawn from barrier 1, Glyn Schofield did his best to make the most out of the good draw, but unfortunately he was left out on a limb and had to do all the work.

Black Revolver was headed at the top of the straight only to be run down in the final moments by a few horses out wide that had better momentum.

Chris Waller commented that “the horse has worked well and has come through his second start with no problems”.

Blueblood Thoroughbreds Racing Manager, David Mourad is looking for a big improvement from Black Revolver. "The blinkers go on which will sharpen him up and he will be ridden just off the speed this time and I expect him to be very hard to beat" said David.

Tomorrow’s race will be a very competitive run and the extra 100m should go in Black Revolver’s favour. Good luck to all who have connections with Black Revolver and to Blueblood Thoroughbreds and the Chris Waller team.

SHEBRINGS class saddles up for her first ever run

Shebrings Class (Sebring x Crown Princess f.), pictured above, will line up on Sunday the 15th of December for her first ever run in the Ideal Hydraulic Connectors F&M Maiden Handicap (1100m) at Hawkesbury. The filly has drawn favourable in barrier 1 with Brenton Avdulla riding.

She has had two trials since entering into new trainer, Bjorn Bakers stables and has come 2nd consecutively with ease. The filly wasn’t asked of much in both trials and she still showed a lot of speed and ability to finish off both of her trials strong through the line.

Shebrings Class is improving with experience and Nathan Berry was pleased with her efforts and said that she just needs to iron out some of her manners and she will make a nice filly.

Blueblood Thoroughbreds Racing Manager, David Mourad comments that "she will be out there to try and win of course, but the main thing we want to see for her first start, is that she does everything right in the race and finishes off strong. She will take a great deal of benefit and improvement out of whatever she does on Sunday and will learn plenty from the experience".

Renowned trainer Bjorn Baker also has stablemate Hard To Hold in the race and said that "she should be hard to beat due to her race experience" but believes Shebrings Class “definitely has a chance” in her first start. Good luck to all Shebrings Class owners and the Bjorn Baker team!
