Apprentice Yusuke Ichikawa has bounced back a winner at Randwick, showing no signs of a freak injury which forced him out of racing for more two weeks.
Ichikawa dislocated his shoulder when he attempted to change whip hands in a race at Randwick on November 29.
On-course paramedics were unable to put it back in place and Ichikawa needed hospital treatment.
He said he still had some discomfort but it was not apparent has he brought Holy Delusions with a late run to win the 1150m race for fillies and mare on Saturday for his boss Tim Martin and owner Neil Werrett.
Ichikawa, who had his first rides back at Canterbury at Friday night, said he felt strong.
"I pulled up well after last night," Ichikawa said.
"My shoulder is uncomfortable but there is no pain.
"I went back to Japan to catch up with family and friends while I was off and it was good because it had been about 18 months since I had seen them."
Holy Delusions ($15) beat the $3.70 favourite Maysoon by a short head in a driving finish.
