Victoria's predicted heat wave will determine how many runners in-form training partners Mathew Ellerton and Simon Zahra will have in the Fiesta Star Handicap at Flemington.
Ellerton and Zahra produced the impressive Kaiser Sun to win at Flemington last Saturday as part of a run of six winners from 16 starters for the stable since December 1.
"It's great to see us getting on a bit of a roll at the moment and we're working hard to keep it going," Zahra said.
The duo has nominated the progressive pair Pillar Of Creation and Top Cat In Town for the Fiesta Star but Zahra said the latter would be an acceptor for an easier race at Seymour.
However, the forecast of hot temperatures for parts of Victoria on Thursday would probably cause Top Cat In Town to be saved for Saturday.
In anticipation of the heat, Thursday's Seymour meeting has been brought forward an hour to begin at midday with the final race at 4pm.
"Pillar Of Creation will definitely run and the other one (Top Cat In Town) will probably run at Seymour but that depends on the heat," Zahra said.
"If it's going to be 40-something degrees on Thursday, then we'll probably be better off running them both on Saturday."
Both Pillar Of Creation and Top Cat In Town had problems earlier in their careers but Zahra insists both horses are ready to produce their best form.
"Pillar Of Creation's was a huge run first-up at Caulfield," he said.
"He's got his confidence up now.
"He's still got a good rating. He can still win a few Saturday races before the handicapper catches up with him.
"Top Cat In Town had a throat operation as a baby and they thought he'd never race but he's going really well.
"He'll be hard to beat at Seymour but he'll be competitive if we decide to run him at Flemington."
