Road Trippin' has a lot to live up to following the recent success of stablemates Don't Get Excited and Kiss Me Ketut.
The four-year-old gelding returns in the Chanteclair Hcp (1420m) at Flemington on Saturday after a six-week let-up and trainer Stephen Theodore has handed the ride to new stable jockey Nathan Rose.
"I wanted to reward Nathan for the trackwork he does behind the scenes," Theodore said.
"He had a 12-month stint with David Hayes in Adelaide so there is no doubt about his ability but he has lacked opportunities."
He says Road Trippin', who won the Bairnsdale Cup on October 6 and followed that up with a second in Mornington's Peninsula Cup in his last start on November 3, will improve vastly on whatever he does on Saturday.
"Class takes a horse a long way and so does a genuine galloper, and that's what he is," Theodore said.
"He's been a stalwart of the stable and we know what we get when we put a saddle on him - a 110 per cent effort."
Theodore will enter Don't Get Excited, who won over 1200m last start at Caulfield, in the Boxing Day Christmas Handicaps at Morphettville and Caulfield with the preference to run in Melbourne.
"He's come through his first-up win in absolute brilliant order," said Theodore.
"He has tightened up after that first-up run so I am super confident that wherever he goes, it's going to be a repeat performance."
Kiss Me Ketut made it three wins in a row when he romped home at Flemington last Saturday.
Another stablemate, Benalla Cup winner Flying Hussler, is being primed for the autumn carnival in Adelaide.
"If he did come to hand a fraction earlier we might slip him over to Tasmania for the Hobart Cup," said Theodore.
"It's a wonderful position to be in with him because you can set him for a mile race or a 2000 metre race and know you have plenty of options."
