Owner Troy Schmidt took a leaf out of American entrepreneur Victor Kiam's playbook when he purchased Wednesday's Doomben winner Murtle Miss.
The Tony Gollan-trained Murtle Miss is by Murtajill out of Fiery Dee making her an older half-sister to promising two-year-old Looks Like The Cat.
Connections recently refused a six-figure offer from Hong Kong interests for Looks Like The Cat who is being tipped as a potential Group winner during the winter.
Kiam became famous as the spokesperson for Remington shavers with his catchline being that he liked the shaver so much he bought the company.
Schmidt has had a similar affinity for the family of Murtle Miss.
"Mr Schmidt bought Murtle Miss, then Looks Like The Cat, then the next yearling and then the broodmare," Gollan said.
"He likes them so much he now owns the family."
The victory by Murtle Miss continued jockey Bobby El-Issa's good run with Gollan.
The three-year-old, who started the $3.10 favourite, beat Dayeala by a half-length with another half-length to Stella Blonde in the Sequalo @ Lyndhurst Handicap (1350m).
Murtle Miss was Gollan's 30th winner of the season and gave him a share of the lead in the Brisbane trainers' premiership alongside Matthew Dunn.
Gollan said Murtle Miss would get better as her distances got longer and would probably have her next start over 1600-metres.
Trainer Kelly Schweida had a change of luck when Ferocity Fair ($4.20) won the Novotel Brisbane Airport Handicap (1350m).
Earlier in the day he aborted plans to start Better Than Ready in the Group One Oakleigh Plate in Melbourne due to the horse's ongoing feet problems, while his smart three-year-old Secret Harmony drew barrier 10 from the tough 1800-metre start at Eagle Farm on Saturday.
However, he had no worries with Ferocity Fair who had the run of the race before winning easily.
