A second Irish trainer, Pat Hughes, is facing court charges relating to the possession of substances contrary to regulations.
Hughes appeared in Carlow District Court on February 13 on eight charges of possession of animal remedies following an inspection at the trainer's yard in February 2012.
Philip Fenton has also been called to appear in court this week charged with similar offences brought by the Irish Department of Agriculture, Food and the Marine.
The department confirmed it is also responsible for the case against Hughes who is accused of having eight different substances in his possession.
"Charges are being brought under the Animal Remedies legislation alleging offences relating to possession of animal remedies," a statement said.
Denis Egan, chief executive of the Irish Turf Club, said the authority will carefully monitor proceedings before deciding on any action.
"We are aware of the Pat Hughes case. We are watching with interest and if anything comes out of it, we will take the appropriate action," he said.
