Four horses from the Chris Waller stable are among eight late entries for the Group One Golden Rose which the premier trainer won last year with Zoustar.
The $1 million Golden Rose (1400m) for three-year-olds on September 13 is Sydney's first Group One race of the season.
Waller has entered Country Warrior, Highward, Idyllic Scenery and Sniper Fire while the other late nominations are Echo Prince (Gai Waterhouse), Heads Of State (Lionel Cohen), Va Va Veni (Michael Costa) and Press Report (Lee Curtis).
Zoustar increased his value with victory in the Coolmore Stud Stakes and will stand at Widden Stud in the spring.
Horses that were nominated for the Golden Slipper earlier this year are automatically entered for the Golden Rose.
Sniper Fire runs in Saturday's two-year-old plate at Rosehill.
Formerly the Peter Pan Stakes, the Golden Rose was introduced in 2003 and won by the Noel Mayfield-Smith-trained In Top Swing.
