Ocean Park's First Foal Arrives

Thursday 7 August 2014, 9:07am

As the breeder of the 5-time G1 winning Cox Plate champion Ocean Park, it was fitting that the exciting young sire's first foal should be born at Trelawney Stud.

Arriving at 5am, the imposing youngster is out of Ruud Van Slaats (Van Nistelrooy) - a dual G2 winner who just like our 'NZ Horse of the Year' Ocean Park, was bred at the famous Cambridge-based stud farm.

Importantly, the much awaited foal could scarcely have made a better impression.

"My first impression of him was that he reminded me of Ocean Park," said Trelawney Stud's Brent Taylor.

"He's a lovely big, strong bay colt, who has a real stamp of class about him."

Ocean Park stands at Waikato Stud this season for NZ$30,000 +GST, LFG.
