Racehorse syndicator Dean Watt and his son Adam have been found guilty of improper conduct over the registration of misleading website domain names.
The Watts were charged with registering domain names of Sydney's leading trainer Chris Waller and one of their competitors Triple Crown syndications - www.chriswallerracing.com.au" and "www.triplecrownsyndications.com.au".
They were also found guilty of setting up websites branded Chris Waller Racing and Triple Crown Syndications.
Dean Watt is the managing director of Dynamic Syndications and Adam Watt is in charge of marketing and business development.
Visitors to the website in Waller's name who entered their details in the "Contact Us" section would get a response from Adam Watt saying those details had been passed on while those who went to the "Triple Crown" site would be directed to Dynamic Syndications.
Racing NSW stewards determined Dean and Adam Watt were responsible for the misleading domain names and websites and issued the guilty verdict on Friday.
Among other evidence, statements were taken from Waller and Triple Crown director Michael Ward who both objected to the existence of the websites.
Dean and Adam Watt will be given the opportunity to tender evidence and make submissions on penalty.
