Attempting to force a passage on smart three-year-old Raposo has cost jockey Michelle Payne a 14-meeting suspension at Flemington.
Raposo had plenty to give at the 300m of the Joyann Erskine & Philip Carroll Handicap but the Patrick Payne-trained galloper had nowhere to go.
Payne decided to shift Raposo to the outside of the leaders but hampered Damien Oliver's mount Angry Gee with a move that stewards decided endangered both riders.
"You put Damien Oliver and yourself in danger by going where there was no room to go," chief steward Terry Bailey told Payne.
"You put your own safety at risk and as a senior rider, we expect more from you."
Raposo missed a place while Payne will miss next Saturday's Group Two PB Lawrence Stakes meeting after she pleaded guilty to high-range careless riding.
Payne can resume riding on August 25.
