Stewards have dropped conduct charges against popular Goulburn trainer Ken Callaughan for his public remarks over changes to race dates at his home track.
South East Racing Association stewards reconvened an inquiry on Monday into the comments attributed to Callaughan in the Daily and Sunday Telegraphs.
Callaughan voiced his view Goulburn was being badly treated by the allocation of meetings early in the week rather than its traditional Friday dates which have a higher turnover.
The trainer's language in describing the re-allocation of Goulburn meetings prompted a charge of conduct prejudicial to the interests of racing.
At Monday's inquiry, stewards determined the charge could not be sustained but reminded Callaughan to be careful of the language he used.
