Sydney racegoers are used to one trainer scooping half the card yet on Saturday it wasn't Chris Waller but Joe Pride at Randwick.
Just a few weeks ago, Pride took the gamble to expand his stable with the addition of boxes at Warwick Farm previously occupied by the late Guy Walter and a consignment of horses from Champion Thoroughbreds.
Rock Sturdy began the spree followed by Group wins from siblings Terravista and Tiger Tees, with the Champion Thoroughbreds-owned Diamond Oasis rounding out the quartet when he beat stablemate Green Beret.
"The Pride stable goes home unbeaten," Pride said.
"I only brought five runners here today and we've got four wins and a quinella.
"I've had trebles before but never half the card.
"It's good for the stable and everyone who works there and it's good for me.
"There are people out there who want to knock me and say `Joe can't handle a big stable'.
"So for the people who work for me it's a big thing."
Three of Pride's winners - Rock Sturdy, Terravista and Diamond Oasis - were ridden by Hugh Bowman who has begun the season in style after a late winter sojourn in Hong Kong.
