Port Macquarie mare Rebel Dancer will return to Brisbane to capitalise on her Doomben win and her jockey Priscilla Schmidt will also be a regular visitor.
Schmidt was among Brisbane's leading apprentices before returning to Port Macquarie on the NSW north coast where she has linked with top stables including that of Jenny Graham, trainer of Saturday's winner Rebel Dancer.
Although she has ridden about 250 winners, Schmidt can still claim two kilograms in the city and hopes to use it in both Brisbane and Sydney, adopting a have-saddle-will-travel outlook to her riding.
"I am now apprenticed to my pop (grandfather and trainer Glen Hodge) and he gives me the freedom to ride just about anywhere I like," Schmidt said.
"If someone rings from Sydney, I can go there and if someone wants me in Brisbane I am up the highway and there."
Rebel Dancer gave Schmidt her first Sydney win when they combined at Warwick Farm last month.
"She is an honest little mare and I would like to stick with her wherever Jenny decides to send her," Schmidt said.
Graham wasn't at Doomben on Saturday but her partner Shane Conroy said Rebel Dancer was sure to return to Brisbane.
"There isn't anything for about three weeks but we will more than likely come back for that race," he said.
Conroy said Rebel Dancer would now be harder to place in NSW country racing.
The mare has now won seven of 18 starts and more than $150,000 prize money.
"We would like to think she is up to the black type fillies and mares races in Brisbane around December-January," Conroy said.
