Top trainer Robert Heathcote had a message for all racehorse owners after his promising galloper Dream Of Slips scored at Doomben on Wednesday.

Dream Of Slips made it two wins from three starts for Heathcote with his victory in the fourth race on the midweek program.

"Can you put it in bold, 48-point letters for all owners to take note: Don't be afraid to geld your horses. This bloke is a prime example," Heathcote said.

"Not many entires make sires but a lot of geldings make good racehorses."

Dream Of Slips gave Heathcote an early double after the victory of Jaspers Magic in the CFMEU - United Queensland Handicap.

The trainer said Dream of Slips had a lot of potential and was showing it now he had been gelded.

"I also got permission to geld another of my horses in Saluter who was a rig. Just wait until he gets back to the track," Heathcote said.

Heathcote has started the season in flying form and leads the trainers' premiership he lost to Tony Gollan last term with 11 winners after six weeks.

Dream Of Slips was the first leg of a winning double for jockey Damian Browne who also took out the Bert/CIP Handicap (1350m) on Abaddon.

Abaddon is part-owned by New Zealand racing identity Bryce Tankard and broke a class record which had stood for 18 years when he clocked 1.18.45.

"He is pretty smart, that is open company time," Browne said.

Former Sydney mare Buon Auspicio continued her good form since coming north and also completed a successful week for the Schmidt family with her win in the United Voice Save Weekend Rates Handicap (1350m).

Apprentice Priscilla Schmidt scored on Buon Auspicio who has won three races and picked up three minor prize money cheques since she was transferred to Guy.

Schmidt's sister Cassie won on the Guy-trained Lucky Day Kid on Saturday.

"They both ride very well and with my apprentice Janette Johnson having a short break I will be using them when I can," Guy said.

The news wasn't as good for apprentice Michael McKenzie who was suspended for eight meetings after causing interference aboard Calendar Babe in the opening race.
