Duo on Target!

Prestige Racing’s duo, Ganar and Sebrina displaying ability and professionalism confirming that they are on target for a win this preparation.

Ganar 5 lengths effortlessly!

As a racehorse owner, either outright or as part of a racing syndicate, it is a great thrill witnessing your horse on the right path to the winner’s circle as they improve through each new preparation and build on the previous.

This is certainly the case for the large group of owners involved in the above pictured Prestige Racing Syndicate’s 4YO Gelding “Ganar” and 3yo Filly “Sebrina”, both trained by Bjorn Baker at Warwick Farm.

All were glued, whether in attendance at Warwick Farm or through various other mediums, during the recent Warwick Farm jump outs, their respective horses indicating they had benefitted from their recent spells and confirmed they are on target for a successful return to racing over the next two to three weeks.

Ganar (5-0-2-1), in the money in three of the five races he contended during his initial preparation, showed considerable improvement when winning his jump out by five lengths and it was not only the margin of his win but the manner in which he did so. Ganar was hardly under any pressure during his gallop and indicated he is on track to break his maiden status when he returns to the track.

Ganar is scheduled to resume at Newcastle on Saturday 18th October over 900m. Prestige Racing’s Director, Shane Mourad, the team at Bjorn Baker Racing and the group of owners head into this first up start with the confidence that the Choisir gelding can convert his recent good workout form into success on raceday.

Sebrina (2-0-1-0) effortlessly won her jump out at Warwick Farm by one length, and like Ganar was never really asked to extend throughout.

In her last preparation this daughter of Sebring and the Group Two winning, Crown Princess, ran a very encouraging second placing at her second start to the now Listed winning Godolphin filly, Abduction, at a midweek Warwick Farm meeting in July. Many of the owners were in attendance that day, along with several of their guests, and they could be heard cheering their much loved filly to the line in the hands of Kathy O’Hara. She went down by the barest of margins but she put the writing on the wall as to her ability.

Immediately following that run, Sebrina had three weeks in the paddock and Bjorn Baker has patiently allowed her to build back to fitness. Race experience from her first preparation will serve her well in her return to racing and the manner in which the attractive chestnut has comeback her spell would please any trainer or owners. Sebrina appears likely to break her maiden status this spring.

Prestige Racing, Bjorn Baker and the great bunch of owners of both Ganar and Sebrina are looking forward to finally seeing all the hard work and, yes, patience pay dividends not just monetarily but in terms of the great excitement both horses appear they might generate.
