Sydney colt Hampton Court has drawn barrier 11 for the $1.5 million Victoria Derby at Flemington on Saturday which has attracted a capacity field.

Part-owned by businessman James Packer and Sydney radio's Alan Jones, Hampton Court rocketed into Derby favouritism with a brilliant last-start win in the Spring Champion Stakes at Randwick.

He will be out to give Gai Waterhouse her second Victoria Derby after Nothin' Leica Dane delivered her first in 1995.

A field of 16 and one reserve was paid up for the 2500m race on Wednesday including Godolphin's Gouldian who has overcome a cough to take his place.

He drew well in barrier three.

Moonee Valley Vase winner Moonovermanhattan has drawn wide in 12 while Bondeiger, doing his best work late for seventh in the same race, has the inside alley.

The Chris Waller-trained Preferment underlined his Victoria Derby claims with a fast-finishing second in the Geelong Classic and has drawn barrier six.
