Irish sprinter Slade Power has pulled up lame after his unplaced run in the Group One Darley Classic.
Slade Power ventured to Australia for Saturday's $1 million sprint to take on Australia's best and finished 11th in the 1200m straight race.
"He's with the vet now, he got injured," trainer Ed Lynam said.
"Hopefully it's just muscle but he's lame behind. (Jockey) Wayne (Lordan) said he didn't feel right in the ground, he's lame behind but hopefully it's not too serious. We're hoping it's just a muscle but we'll know more in a few hours."
Lynam said the horse was two out of five lame.
Sydney sprinter Terravista won the sprint race ahead of Chautauqua with Lankan Rupee third.
The track was upgraded to a Good (2) after the race.
Lordan said Slade Power, winner of the Diamond Jubilee and July Cup in England this year, was a little slow away and travelled OK for the first half of the race but then got left flat footed when they sprinted.
He said he eased him down the last 200m as he felt the ground was "a little bit quick" for him.
"You lose you lose, I'm not into making excuses," Lynam said.
"We gave it a go and it didn't pan out. But the horse is lame behind."
