Coffey wins apprentices' series in Macau

As Australia's leading jockeys were battling it out on the final day of the famous Melbourne Cup carnival, one of Victoria's top apprentices was riding to success abroad.

Harry Coffey won an apprentices' invitation series in Macau over two days on Friday and Saturday.

Coffey came out on top in the event which comprised 14 apprentice riders from 14 countries is a five-race series over the two days.

Coffey rode one winner and finished on 47 points, six points ahead of his nearest rival.

"Fortunate enough to have some success in Macau. Great time, and loved representing Australia and making them proud by taking out the series!" Coffey posted on Twitter.
