The Magic Millions Classic can't come soon enough for jockey Peter Robl after he rode a contender for the Gold Coast race to an impressive trial win.
Robl was glowing in his praise for the Clarry Conners-trained Assail who cruised home by a length in an 800m heat at Warwick Farm on Friday.
Conners is undecided if Assail will reappear in next Thursday's Magic Millions race at Wyong or wait until the Canterbury meeting on December 29.
He wants to plot the best path to the $2 million race at the Gold Coast on January 12.
"She trialled outstanding. She's top grade," Robl said.
Assail outsped her rivals to post a debut win at Warwick Farm last month before being freshened ahead of a Magic Millions campaign.
Robl settled her further back on Friday to teach her to relax.
"She just cruised past them," Robl said.
The filly is one of 23 nominations for the $200,000 Magic Millions Wyong race.
Melbourne filly Calcatta, co-favourite for the Gold Coast feature, is also nominated along with debut winner Certitude from the Gai Waterhouse stable.
The Waterhouse-trained Driefontein is the star nomination for the Magic Millions 3YO Stakes at Wyong.
