Jim Byrne has been suspended for three weeks for careless riding after a fall left jockey Eddie Wilkinson with neck soreness.
Byrne pleaded guilty to careless riding which led to the fall in which Wilkinson took a heavy tumble from De Bois at the 450-metre mark in the Programmed Property Services Handicap (1350m).
"I've only ever caused one fall in my life and I'm gutted that this has happened," a remorseful Byrne told a stewards' inquiry.
Wilkinson will have precautionary x-rays on his neck but walked back to the jockeys' room and was able to give evidence at the inquiry although clearly in discomfort.
Byrne will start his suspension after he rides at Eagle Farm on Saturday. He will be sidelined until October 28.
