Ideal draw for Adebisi in Razor Sharp

An ideal barrier draw is all Desleigh Forster needed to confirm a Sydney campaign for Adebisi.

Forster gave the green light for Adebisi to run in Saturday's Razor Sharp Handicap (1200m) at Warwick Farm after the five-year-old drew perfectly in barrier three with Hugh Bowman booked to ride.

"Once I saw the barrier draw for the Razor Sharp I didn't need a lot of persuasion to put him on the float," Forster said.

"From gate three he should bounce straight to the front but I'll leave the tactics up to Hugh. I'm sure he'll have a plan worked out."

Beyond the Razor Sharp, Forster is giving plenty of thought to other races in Sydney and Melbourne early next year that she regards as suitable targets, including the Oakleigh Plate.

In the Razor Sharp, Adebisi will carry only 54.5kg, dropping four kilos on the weight he carried when fifth in the George Moore Stakes at Eagle Farm on December 8.

"The last time he carried that sort of weight was a year ago when he ran third in the Lough Neagh at Doomben so he won't know himself with 54.5kg on Saturday," Forster said.

Adebisi will be joined in Sydney by in-form mare Poste Restante who will run in the Summer Cup (2400m) at Rosehill on Boxing Day with regular rider Michael Cahill aboard.

"Normally I wouldn't take her down this early but she and Adebisi are great mates and they're always stabled next to each other at home so it made sense to put her on the same float," Forster said.

Poste Restante was a narrow winner at Eagle Farm last Saturday but will have a crucial gear change when she races in the Summer Cup.

"After talking it over with Michael we felt the best idea was to take the blinkers off because she wanted to go a bit keenly in them the other day," Forster said.

"On face value she didn't look impressive but when you get down to the nitty gritty they walked in the race and she had to stop and come around their heels with 58kg on her back so I was more than happy with how she went."
