Not A Happy Camper has earned a chance to chase stakes success in Adelaide after posting her second win in succession at Sandown on Wednesday.

The daughter of Not A Single Doubt scored a narrow win in the Bushnell Outdoor Products Handicap (1300m) which followed a maiden victory at Kyneton earlier in the month.

"She's black type placed and we'll probably head to Adelaide with her looking to add a black type win to her record," co-trainer Simon Zahra said.

Zahra, who trains in partnership with Mathew Ellerton, said Not A Happy Camper had lost form during the spring but had benefited from a lengthy spell.

The filly was Group Three placed behind subsequent Moonee Valley Vase winner Moonovermanhattan in Adelaide last May but didn't manage a place in three runs during the Melbourne carnival.

She was spelled after finishing down the track in the Edward Manifold Stakes at Flemington in October.

"She lost her way a bit in the spring after not spelling as well as we would have liked," Zahra said.

"We gave her a nice spell and have brought her along through the ranks a bit slower this time instead of throwing her into the bigger races."

Not A Happy Camper took up a prominent position in Wednesday's race and fought on gamely to beat A Lotta Love by a short neck with Our Little Miracle another three quarters of a length away third.

Zahra said the stable was unsure what distance range would best suit the filly who was originally earmarked as a middle-distance horse before her spring failures forced a rethink.

However, Zahra believes the fight the filly has shown in her two wins this campaign point to her coping with another distance test.

"We'll probably step her up on a mile path and then evaluate her from there," he said.

"She's also better horse with the sting out."
