She's A Stalker to confirm Millions plans

Thursday 27 December 2012, 4:33pm

She's A Stalker will be out to cement a start in the $1 million Magic Millions Guineas when she runs at Canterbury on Saturday.

She's A Stalker won the $100,000 Wyong Magic Millions 3YO Stakes last Thursday but it wasn't enough to guarantee her a berth in the Gold Coast race on January 12.

With $99,200 prize money, She's A Stalker is 17th in the ballot order and trainer Angela Davies believes the winner of the Wyong race should gain an exemption for the Gold Coast feature.

The filly will be out to secure enough prizemoney to ensure a start at the Gold Coast when she lines up in Saturday's Bowermans Office Furniture Handicap (1250m).

"She's 17th but there's a few others racing like her in the next week and a lot could leapfrog her," Davies said.

"The winner of the three-year-old Magic Millions at Wyong isn't exempt. I think that's wrong.

"We're better off now running (at Canterbury) and making sure she gets in the race. I would hate to miss out by $2000."

She's A Stalker has won two of her six starts with her two appearances at Canterbury resulting in a win in June and a first-up second to subsequent city winner My Sabeel on December 7.

Davies said the filly had come through her Wyong success in fine order.

"She'll be right on top of her game up there at the Gold Coast," Davies said.

"She'll run well again on Saturday for sure."

Corey Brown rode She's A Stalker to victory at Wyong but will be on rival runner Springs Reward on Saturday.

Davies said she didn't tell the jockey soon enough of her plans to run at Canterbury and will use 2kg claiming apprentice Sam Clipperton on She's A Stalker to help offset the filly's 59.5kg.
