For such a relaxed horse, Here The Rhythm is likely to have jockey Jackie Beriman straining on the reins at Moonee Valley on Saturday.
The three-year-old has had one start - at Mildura - for one win but trainer Shawn Mathrick is unconcerned about the rise in class on offer at a city meeting.
The only thing which worries him in the City Jeep Handicap is his gelding's high speed, given he will move up from 1200 metres to a testing 1600m at Moonee Valley.
Here The Rhythm tackles a field of more experienced rivals off the back of a single official trial win and his victory at Mildura.
"He's always shown us a bit but the only scary thing for me is with the mile - he just seems a bit speedy," Mathrick said.
"He's got a pretty high cruising speed. When Mark (Pegus) rode him at Mildura he jumped and really flew the machines.
"He restrained him and I was actually worried in the middle stages that he'd choked him down too much because he really does roll along a bit."
He jumps from gate eight, but that won't be an issue either, Mathrick says.
"The rail's in the true position and if he shows the gate speed that he showed at Mildura within 50 metres he'll be on the rail and in front," he said.
Mathrick is anxious to develop a solid miler with Here The Rhythm, who he describes as "the most laid back horse you'd ever lay your hands on".
Whatever the result, he feels he has a horse to work with.
"It won't be a disappointment, no matter what he does," he said.
