Stewards inspect Patinack stable

Monday 31 December 2012, 5:45pm

An inspection of Nathan Tinkler's Queensland stable has found all horses to be fit and properly cared for but some essential training equipment out of order.

Rumours that the Canungra arm of Patinack Farm would be the latest casualty of Tinkler's financial woes surfaced when the stable's runners were scratched from Saturday's racing at Doomben.

Racing Queensland steward Ian Brown and veterinary officer Dr Martin Lenz conducted the inspection and found all horses to be in good condition.

However, the water walker and swimming pool were not operational and on Tinkler's instructions, horses were not to race when unable to use those facilities on a regular basis.

Stable representative Brett Killion told the stewards the Patinack Farm horses were unlikely to race until the second week of January.

Trainer John Thompson will be required to give assurances the horses' preparation has been adequate before they will be able to race.

Tinkler's racing and breeding concerns have been hard hit due to the mining entrepreneur's ongoing cash flow crisis with stables in Melbourne and Hawkesbury closed down.

Racing authorities in both Victoria and NSW have also withheld prize monies from Tinkler to offset training debts.
