Stablemates Flying Achilles and Land's End will take different paths towards a clash in the Group One Spring Champion Stakes.

Gerald Ryan entered both for the Listed Dulcify Quality (1600m) at Randwick but will instead run Flying Achilles over 1800m at Rosehill on Wednesday.

Flying Achilles led all the way over 1600m at Newcastle last Friday week to post his second win from five starts.

"Flying Achilles will run on Wednesday and that will give him ten days until the Spring Champion," Ryan said.

"I've been quite happy with him since Newcastle but the race on Wednesday looks a bit harder than I though it would be.

"I still expect him to run well and be tuned up for the Group One."

Land's End ran at Newcastle on the same day, beating just one home in the Group Three Spring Stakes (1600m), a race that still has his trainer confused.

"I don't know what to make out of the form from the Newcastle race," he said.

"The first three around the turn finished in the last three and the last four at the top of the straight were the first four home.

"They were racing into a strong head wind but I don't know what to take out of it."

The Spring Stakes winner, Devil Hawk, finished midfield in Saturday's Gloaming Stakes at Rosehill.

Among Ryan's other runners on his home track on Wednesday is last-start Canterbury maiden winner Magic Alibi who runs in the 1200m benchmark race.

"She is a lovely filly and has come through Canterbury well and I expect her to run well," he said.

Intrusion and Edge Away oppose each other in the three-year-old maiden at Rosehill while Klammer runs in the 1200m benchmark race.

Now a four-year-old, Klammer was stakes-placed three times as a juvenile including a third to future Group One winner Hallowed Crown in the Kindergarten Stakes.

His best performance in six starts as a three-year-old was his third to Kuro in the Listed Heritage Stakes.

This time around he has clicked with Mitchell Bell who has ridden him to two Hawkesbury wins and a Warwick Farm fourth and takes the ride on Wednesday.
