Black Caviar owners cheer Serene Majesty

Saturday 10 October 2015, 3:23pm

The owners of Black Caviar have a more than handy replacement after the victory of Serene Majesty in Group company at Caulfield.

While the daughter of Fastnet Rock will never reach the same dizzy heights as the champion sprinter, the Peter and Paul Snowden-trained filly was impressive in her victory in the Thoroughbred Club Stakes on Saturday.

Ridden by Kerrin McEvoy, Serene Majesty ($11) charged home from the tail of the field to scored by 1-1/2 lengths from Secret Agenda ($4.60) with Harlem River ($4) three quarters of a length away third.

Black Caviar was unbeaten in her 25 starts, including 15 at Group One level, while Serene Majesty took her record to two wins from her four starts with Saturday's win.

During a visit to the Randwick stables, Peter Snowden told the ownership group they would be unlikely to ever again reach the same heights they attained with Black Caviar.

"You've had a champion and the odds of getting another one are a zillion-to-one," Snowden said.

However Snowden thinks the filly, which he described as genuine and honest, will keep on improving.

Snowden was expecting to give Serene Majesty just one start in Melbourne this campaign, but may reconsider those plans.

"We'll give her the benefit of that run and seeing how easy it was, we'll give her a couple of days before deciding," Snowden said.

"There is another race for her during Cup week, so we'll see how things go."
