Evergreen galloper Adebisi is set to fill a void left by trainer Desleigh Forster's three young stars heading into Brisbane's summer carnival.

Adebisi showed he had recovered from an injury when he won a Deagon trial by three lengths two weeks ago.

He is scheduled to make his return in the Aitkenvale Family Health Centre Handicap (1110m) at Doomben on Saturday.

The eight-year-old, who cost $15,000 as a yearling, has won 12 races and $876,000 in prize money but hasn't run since January 3 when injured in the Gold Coast Bat Out Hell (900m).

"We have given him a really good break. I had him entered for Doomben two weeks ago but he wasn't ready," Forster said.

Apprentice Matt McGillivray's 3kg claim will reduce Adebisi's weight to 56kg.

"The only problem is the weather and I will not start him on a really heavy track," Forster said.

Adebisi is being set for the Gold Coast carnival with the Bat Out Of Hell and possibly a sprint race on Magic Millions Classic day his targets.

Forster pointed out Adebisi was an old horse who liked being around the stables and racing.

"Right back to his two-year-old days he has been most consistent," she said.

Adebisi was a multiple winner as a two-year-old but his best run was a fourth in the 2010 Champagne Classic at Doomben behind future Group One winners Pressday, Spirit Of Boom and Buffering.

While he hasn't measured up to Group One company he has been competitive in stakes races.

Forster ventured to Sydney earlier this month with three-year-olds I'm Belucci, Too Good To Refuse and Cylinder Beach and the trio did her proud.

I'm Belucci ran second in the Group One Spring Champion Stakes, Too Good To Refuse was fifth in the same race while Cylinder Beach was third in a three-year-old event.

I'm Belucci and Too Good To Refuse are spelling while Cylinder Beach will have one more run before a break in a maiden next Tuesday.
