Noel Doyle is accustomed to the ups and downs of racing but even he is getting frustrated by the run of bad luck experienced by his filly Aimee.
Aimee steps up to 1350 metres in the Twilight Race Day 4th December Handicap at Doomben on Saturday in which she has drawn well and will carry 52.5kg after the claim of apprentice Alannah Fancourt
Doyle believes those factors can turnaround Aimee's fortunes.
The mare has won five races and $365,000 prize money but Doyle believes it should be much more.
"She hasn't won since September last year but usually through no fault of her own," Doyle said.
"The big thing has been bad barriers and she seems to be always getting caught deep.
"Even at her last start she was caught deep and kept coming to the line behind a good horse in Jumbo Prince. I thought her run was outstanding.
"We meet Jumbo Prince better at the weights and the 1350 metres will suit us."
A former jockey, Doyle has enjoyed plenty of highs in racing including training Kinjite to an Epsom Handicap win and riding the champion mare Eye Liner.
He has also had his share of tough times and lost top galloper Stylish Century after he had guided him through a marvellous two-year-old campaign.
Doyle has taken it all in his stride but even he believes Aimee's run of bad luck must be coming to an end.
"Surely she deserves some luck on Saturday and then we will see what she can do," Doyle said.
