Schofield after Classic win and title lead

Friday 18 January 2013, 3:55pm

It will be hard to find a jockey with more incentive to ride a winner at Rosehill than Glyn Schofield.

Schofield is chasing back-to-back Inglis Classic wins on Saturday when he partners the Melbourne colt Direct Charge.

His booking comes at the expense of leading Victorian jockey Steven Arnold who sacked himself after his Warwick Farm ride on the colt.

"Steven actually stood himself down from the ride," trainer Robbie Laing said. "He didn't think he rode him that well at Warwick Farm.

"He said if you go back to Sydney with him get a Sydney jockey."

Schofield's call-up for the Direct Charge mount adds depth to a Rosehill book that could easily result in his return to the top of the Sydney jockeys' premiership.

He has seven rides as he tries to make the most of Hugh Bowman's absence because of suspension.

Trailling Bowman by a half-win, Schofield's best chance of claiming the lead is likely to rest with in-form three-year-old That's A Good Idea in the Inglis Bonus Handicap (1500m).

That's A Good Idea ($3.80) is favourite to make it successive wins after engineering his own luck in a Warwick Farm victory a fortnight ago.

Schofield will also continue his association with last-start Rosehill winner Fedde, one of the main chances in the Become A Sponsor @ ATC Handicap (1500m).
