Three of the biggest names from the Gai Waterhouse stable dominate the top of the first Doncaster Mile market but it is a stablemate making a comeback who has attracted immediate support.
Triple crown winner Pierro shares the top line of betting with his Caulfield Guineas conqueror All Too Hard at $7 with Waterhouse's 2012 winner More Joyous second pick at $11.
Another Tulloch Lodge star, the untapped Proisir ($15), is also well in commission but it is the $21 chance Laser Hawk who has pre-post punters most interested.
A Group One winner and Australian Derby placegetter last year, Laser Hawk missed the spring after surgery to remove a bone chip.
But two encouraging trials have convinced stable supporters the horse is in for a profitable autumn campaign.
"The money suggests he has overcome the injury that ruled him out of the spring," TAB's Matt Jenkins said.
"The four-year-old looked in good order with a recent trial at Randwick."
Waterhouse is chasing her eighth Doncaster Mile victory.
Darley's Golden Rose winner Epaulette shares the fifth line of betting at $17 with the 2011 Epsom winner Secret Admirer and Shoot Out, runner-up to More Joyous last year.
The Queen's horse Carlton House, also from the Waterhouse yard, is one of six horses at $21.
Also on the $21 line are the Emirates Stakes winner Happy Trails and Perth star Luckygray.
