A full brother to star sprinter Melito will make his public debut in a barrier trial at Rosehill on Tuesday with trainer Gerald Ryan excited about his prospects.
The Redoute's Choice-Cloister colt had a taste of the bustle of raceday on Saturday when he walked over from his stable to the saddling stalls with stablemate Planetarium who ran second at Rosehill.
Named Galeforce Ten, the two-year-old cost $750,000 at last year's Magic Millions sale and will be set for the Sydney autumn.
Reavill Racing's John Rippon is among the partners in the colt who competes over 900 metres in one of four trials for two-year-olds.
Coolmore's Tom Magnier paid $1.65 million for Melito at last year's Australian Broodmare sale and she produced an Encosta De Lago colt in August.
In a stellar autumn/winter campaign in 2010, Melito won two Group One races - the TJ Smith and the Winter Stakes - and was placed in another four, earning her the title of NSW champion for the season.
Among the older horses trialling on Tuesday are Chris Waller-trained stablemates Red Tracer and Nocturnelle who will both be aimed at the Group One Coolmore (1500m) in March 23.
A superior wet tracker with five wins from five starts in slow or heavy ground, Red Tracer's best Group One performance so far is her third in the 2011 Epsom Handicap.
"She will start out in the Breeders' Classic and go to the Coolmore at her third run in," Waller said.
"I've ordered rain for her.
"Nocturnelle will follow the same path."
Nocturnelle is adept on all surfaces and won two Listed races last spring, the Tibbie Stakes at Newcastle and the Angst Stakes at Rosehill.
Their stablemate Said Com, second behind Mosheen in the 2012 Randwick Guineas, competes in the same trial.
The Waller-trained winner of the 2011 Emirates Stakes, Albert The Fat, is among the premier trainer's other triallists on Tuesday.
